Som svar på George. George: I see your point, you are toching the case of EU bureaucracy. But the same problem has always existed when it comes to standardization, national or international. Lets hope it will be as easy as possible on this matter. /Carl

Äntligen, säger jag. Jag hoppas för alla inblandade, att man verkligen går in för att enas, slutar att bara tänka på sitt land och inser att det faktiskt är för konsumenternas bästa, att en standardiserad storleksbeteckning införs i hela Europa. Konsumenter som till slut genom sina beslut, betalar för att den här industrin kan fortleva. Konsumenter som reser till olika länder och vill ha designen, kvaliteten med mera som landet kan erbjuda, men inte behöva ha bekymret att leta fram sin storlek beroende om man är i Sverige, Frankrike eller Italien. Konsumenter som vet sin storlek, vill kunna gå direkt till sin standard storleksbeteckning vare sig klädaffären är placerat i Huskvarna, Paris eller Milano. Vågar man hoppas att Europa sedan går vidare och gör överenskommelse med resten av jordens länder?

So Svenska Handels has received the honor of standardizing clothing sizes within the EU. The Swedish press hails this as a great step forward. Great!
Whatever they decide on within the allocated time, it will have to be remitted to all the member countries that have varying size issues for discussion and debate.
When that has subsided, the documentation on the clothing will have to include the double standard such as GB FR GR DE SP and etc PLUS the Swedish (moment of glory) EU standard.
The tags on clothing at the present time are longer than a parking ticket, so its gonna get bigger.
As in France, for example, all receipts still have the amounts in EU and Francs – still after how many years? So the time span of having an accepted, recognized clothing standard could take up to ten years.
By then other – new members – will also have their say.
So I wonder who bestowed this honor? And they receive EU millions to work it out. Those invited to participate will take leave of absence (tjänstledig) for the duration, and their jobs will be filled by substitute bureaucrats.
