– Om fler \u00e5t fisk skulle d\u00f6dligheten i hj\u00e4rt- och k\u00e4rlsjukdomar minska, s\u00e4ger Wulf Becker, nutritionist, professor och en av f\u00f6rfattarna till rapporten. F\u00f6r personer som aldrig \u00e4ter fisk kan risken att d\u00f6 i hj\u00e4rtinfarkt minska med s\u00e5 mycket som en fj\u00e4rdedel, om de b\u00f6rjar \u00e4ta fisk, s\u00e4ger han.<\/p>\n

I rapporten har man g\u00e5tt igenom det vetenskapliga underlag som finns, bland annat tv\u00e5 nya riskv\u00e4rderingar kring milj\u00f6f\u00f6roreningarna dioxin, PCB och kvicksilver. Riskerna har v\u00e4gts mot de n\u00e4ringsm\u00e4ssiga f\u00f6rdelarna med fisk. Fisk \u00e4r till exempel rik p\u00e5 D-vitamin, jod och selen och fet fisk, som lax och sill, inneh\u00e5ller mycket omega-3-fettsyror.<\/p>\n

– Ett problem med de nuvarande r\u00e5den \u00e4r att riskerna med fisk ofta betonas mer \u00e4n nyttan, vilket kan skr\u00e4mma till exempel gravida fr\u00e5n att \u00e4ta fisk. Eftersom foster bland annat beh\u00f6ver de omega-3-fettsyror som finns i fisk skulle de blivande mammorna snarare beh\u00f6va \u00e4ta mer fisk, s\u00e4ger Wulf Becker.<\/p>\n
